Discover Six Top Tips For Increased Effectiveness When Working From Home
One of the key elements to being able to work more efficiently from home is to be able to add structure to your day so that you can maximise your time effectively.
There are many great articles and blog posts out there that can help you with Time Management but if you think to how we are brought up Breakfast at 7.00am – Lunch at 1.00pm – Dinner at 6.00pm etc with a 9.00-5.00pm workload thrown in to keep you on track all day long you are always under the relentless pressure of having no time to yourself.
When the commute is over from your hard days work many people find that they are so sapped of energy they simply sink into the sofa in front of the television or laptop, eat something that could be much more healthy than it is and wind down ready to begin all over the next day.
Your routine, whether it is good, bad or indifferent is likely to be one of the hardest challenges you have to make because it has become part of you. Some people find it impossible to function when left to make up their own routine and it can be a huge surprise that it is even a problem.
When you suddenly find yourself as your own boss one of the biggest challenges will be to avoid distractions coming your way every day in your inbox. You will need to structure your day to work just as you would if you were going to the office even if the commute is only 30 seconds now.
Step#1 Make sure you start off as you mean to go on by finding a room in the house that you can call your home office. Do not make the mistake of using up some space at the end of the dining table your environment is important for productivity.
#2 Organise your tasks in blocks of appointments with yourself. For example block out 2 hours every morning to write your content and 3 hours every afternoon to promote and advertise you business. Bring structure to your day and focus on income producing activities.
#3 It really is ALL in the detail. Focus on building one campaign at a time and think carefully about the congruency between your advert, your landing page and your Sales Funnel. If you do not do this one simple task your head will explode with all the things you have yet to do.
Tip# 4 You need to record every part of your business including your accounts. Setting up a separate bank account is ideal and designating a marketing budget that you will use to build your business is vital no matter how small.
#5 Create at least 3 Lever Arch files, label them up, index them and call them something like marketing training, mindset training and sales campaigns. Work with each file at the appropriate time, single minded focus on what you are doing.
Step# 6 Build momentum slowly over time in your business by practising your business daily. You will be stronger minded and more likely to succeed if you have mentors in your business that can provide you with training and support. Business is just practise and if your practise enough every day at some point soon you are going to become great at it.
