Golf For Novice: Practicing Various Types Of Swing
People need to first understand what golf is all about and get some sort of training before they start practicing and playing the game. While most people go for a training course or engage a professional trainer to teach, there are others who are adventurous and prefer to learn the game on their own. They make it a point to reach up and understand the rules and then learn while playing by observing others and by trial and error methods.
But then some kind of lessons and theoretical understanding of the game is necessary for it is quite a tough game to master.
If you observe the other players moves very critically you will understand a lot about swings. You will understand as to why they practice their swing several times before taking a shot. You will also observe the way their swing and the movements involved thereof. There is the twisting of the body and secondly the swinging of the arms in co-ordination.
The effectiveness of a swing depends upon the turning and posturing of the body. The body twists to a near to horizontal place which is at right angles to the spine and is at a parallel line to the shoulder blades.
Relaxed and loose allowing the entire upper body to turn and move in a fluid movement. The arms swinging is done in one free movement involving swinging of arms as nearly as possible aiming at the ball, where the body turns to allow the arms to swing. During the swing the shoulders remain relaxed and free thus allowing a free movement of the upper part of the body effortlessly.
Do not think that swinging is very easy just because it looks easy on television or watching other professionals at play. You will be surprised while you practice that it takes quite a while for you to get control and coordination over the swing and get going. In fact you have got to learn about two more aspects of swing which have to do with backswing and downswing which are also important.
The swing has two distinctive parts to the entire technique. The first part involves a backswing where in the player lifts the club back and upwards to the right side of his body if he is a right handed golfer and pickups the required distance and speed. The second part is to swing it down and hit the ball in the required direction with the right amount of force.
Here again in a backswing the body is turned to be able to facilitate swinging of the club in a circular motion. It is only with the turning of the body that the perfect swing becomes possible.
