YMCA Camps
With the city I grew up in, YMCA camps are actually very popular. The thing is, parents in town doesn’t have a lot of cash to get their children away to pricey forests summer camps, but at the same time they wished to give their children the opportunity to get fit and enjoy the summer season just how all kids like to – by running around, swimming, playing sports, and generally goofing off. YMCA summer camp gave us the chance to do exactly that. Also see these Great Supply of Church Bulletins that can be helpful for the camp.
The first year I actually joined YMCA summer camp, I was getting into 5th grade not to mention dreading the journey. I didn’t want to have to be gone from home everyday. I really liked to read, and wanted to use my summer curled up with a book. Yet, my parents wanted to see me to get in shape, so they sent me off to the day camp.
YMCA camps wasn’t a tradition in my family. My older sister had truly loved going to girl scout camp herself, and also my big brother was a boy scout.
The reason why I joined YMCA camp was because it was near and convenient, and didn’t require me to sleep away. I would spend the day there then my parents would pick me up.
Even though I might have favored a more educational camp in that age, I ended up loving YMCA camps pretty well. I took to the water like a duck, and was immediately made part of the swimming group.
Most of the other children had more experience than I did, but it didn’t take me that long to catch up with them, and also go beyond their level of skill. By the end of the summer, I’m one of the best swimmers in the whole place.
Following that, I joined YMCA camps almost every single year. I truly liked to swim, and they allow me to spend time there in the pool. Also, I got to do some arts and crafts. I even got to read for an hour every now and then, which has always been definitely my favorite pastime.
The camp kept me from my mom’s hair, and offered me an opportunity to exercise – something which I really wouldn’t did if had not been in that summer camp. Now that I’m raising my children, There’s no doubt that I will send them back to the same summer camp I used to visit.
